Our PeopleProfessionalsMelior Consulting consists of a core group of seven senior consultants who have either worked or consulted in the world of care homes. These are experienced professionals who have held senior executive positions in large and small organisations. They now apply their skills to help care home businesses to become more effective and profitable. You will find them not just highly professional, but also most understanding and down to earth in their approach. This group is comprised of:
Smuts Beyers
Has extensive general management, marketing and sales
experience at senior executive level in a number of industries. He has been
very successful in managing large and small businesses, and his consulting
experience includes strategy, sales and marketing, and general business
improvement. He has done interim management and consulting assignments in the
care-homes industry.
Tony Brook
A qualified Chartered Accountant with a number of years experience in financial
and general management in a range of small and medium sized companies. The
experience gained particularly as Chairman and CEO in developing a very
successful group of new purpose built nursing homes from scratch to 9 homes
over a ten year period, is now used to assist care home owners in many of the
factors necessary to improving their overall business performance.
David Clayton
A career that spans blue chip companies to small independent businesses, from
initial management training to commercial, purchasing and general management
roles, demonstrating strategic vision, team leadership, implementation of major
change programmes and generating significant profit improvement. Experience in
implementing purchasing affinity schemes with groups in a multitude of diverse
small businesses, including the care-home sector.
Ron King
Many years experience in the treasury departments of a number of major banks
coupled with 10 years experience in IT, as a trainer, analyst and developer, has
provided a number of skills that are currently being used to benefit small to
medium sized business owners. Has experience of software that has been
specifically developed to support care, both residential and domiciliary, and
is able to assist care home managers/owners make decisions about the use of
technology in their homes.
Andrew Mathias
Extensive management experience with a major bank, and a depth of experience in
general and financial management across a range of different industries, enables
him to assist companies in financial difficulty, and work with new and existing
businesses requiring funding. His strategic and financial planning skills have
helped many businesses, including those within the Residential Care Industry.
Bill Nelson
Has many years experience supporting companies in a variety of ways, including
training, arranging loans, sourcing equity and accessing grants. This experience
includes Director and Non-exec roles, and is backed by professional
qualifications in Management, Finance and HR. He has strong experience in
assisting companies in distress, particularly in turning them around and helping
them grow.
